The largest air traffic controllers’ union in France, SNCTA, has announced a 24-hour strike. It will take place from September 18 to 19 and could cause serious disruptions to air traffic throughout Europe
Reasons for the protest:
🟦 demand for wage indexation taking into account inflation,
🟦 dissatisfaction with the work of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC), which the union accuses of “mistrust and repressive management methods”
Scope:
🟦 the strike will affect all airports in France, including Paris Charles de Gaulle
🟦 possible mass flight delays and cancellations both within the country and for airlines whose routes pass through French airspace.
The strike was announced after negotiations with aviation authorities failed
❗️Passengers are advised to check the status of flights in advance, be prepared for schedule changes and long delays, and take into account that disruptions may affect not only France, but also neighboring European countries.
