During DG operation, the “Speed and Position Sensor 3 Malfunction” alarm was triggered several times in both the IAS and HIMSEN PC.

After checking, the crew confirmed:

🟢 All SE123 sensor cables were connected correctly.
🟢 The air gap was within specifications (1.5–2.0 mm).
🟢 The sensor is still faulty.

Actions taken:

The faulty sensor [JAQUET DSF1210.01A1HV] was replaced with a new one, which restored normal operation without further alarms.

Even properly installed sensors can fail under the influence of marine vibrations and thermal cycles.

💡However, the Koreans replaced the entire LECM module and gas supply valves to solve this problem of speed and position sensor failures.
