Ryanair has won a court case in Brussels over its carry-on baggage policy.
The court’s decision is final and binding, as the Belgian consumer organization Test Achats declined to appeal.

The court confirmed:
✔ Each passenger is entitled to one free underseat bag of reasonable size.
❌ The airline is not required to include large carry-on baggage stowed in the overhead bins in the base fare.
✔ Ryanair’s policy complies with EU Regulation No. 1008/2008.
The court also dismissed claims regarding:
- dynamic pricing,
- paid seat selection,
- family seating,
- the way baggage options are displayed during booking.
🇪🇺 Does this only apply to Belgium?
Legally, the decision applies only to Belgium.
But it’s important to understand:
