Do you know what EDKI is? It’s when they tell you: “Congratulations, now you can get a diploma without CES!” – and you already feel the taste of victory, like that Turkish ice cream cone in Istanbul…
But then with a slight movement of the hand the seller takes it back, and you stand there – and your hand is empty, and your stomach is sad.
After our post, like in Odessa at Privoz, human rights activists suddenly woke up: “Oh-oh-oh, students’ rights!”
And what about us? We are not human rights activists, we are motivational pirates – our goal is to twist the tails of slackers so that they start “hard” to work off their salaries!
The rest of the publics, like seagulls on the roadstead, just copy-paste the news and did not even peck at the essence.
And we dug — and found what’s really in the scuppers of our “Titanic”:
🚢 EDKI = Working diploma without CES ✅
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has officially confirmed: graduates of 2025 in specialty 271 “Sea and Inland Water Transport” can receive their first working diploma without CES.
📌 In fact:
- EDKI is a mandatory exam, the results are in the state database and in the diploma supplement.
- According to Resolution No. 1499, the rank of command staff is awarded after a test or EDKI.
- Diploma + supplement = a sufficient package for obtaining a working diploma.
⚓ BUT!
Then a Turkish ice cream seller comes out and takes away the cone with the inscription “GMDSS” from all the navigators! Because they still don’t give a GMDSS diploma without CES.
And now our sailors are already packing their bags for Warsaw…
💡 Conclusion:
1) EDKI is a necessary and correct thing, but it is 75% implemented. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education “coordinated” the process in such a way that in Morris Service students were sent to CES again and navigators are going to Warsaw🇵🇱
2) Mechanics and Electrons were lucky🙏
3) Thanks to PRMTU for organizing EDKI abroad, but still there was no need to force them to join the union, we are not in North Korea 👔
Remember, dear sailors: if you have an ice cream cone in your hands, it is not a guarantee that it will end up in your stomach. Especially if there is a Turkish seller nearby!
