The main goal is to reduce emissions and develop environmentally friendly logistics.

📍 One of the first such routes will connect the port of Qingdao and the port of Hamburg. These routes will accommodate vessels using alternative fuels (methanol, ammonia, LNG, and biofuels), and the ports themselves will provide infrastructure for green operations and refueling.

🚢 The initiative is part of China’s global shift toward “clean” trade and the country’s strengthening role in sustainable maritime transport. European partners are also interested: eco-friendly routes reduce carbon footprints and comply with Fit for 55 and IMO 2050 standards.

Experts estimate that the development of such corridors will accelerate fleet and port technology modernization, lead to the emergence of new logistics standards, and strengthen environmental certification requirements for vessels and suppliers.
