Damen and Windcat unveiled a new vessel, the Windcat Amsterdam, the first in the Elevation Series (CSOV), which has already arrived in Europe.

The vessel was built at Ha Long Shipyard and is designed to accommodate up to 120 people.

⚙️ Key features:
— designed for the construction, commissioning, and maintenance of offshore facilities
— functions as a floating base for personnel and equipment
— endurance of up to 30 days
— emphasis on comfort: a “home away from home” format for the crew

🗣Technology and ecology:

  • hybrid battery-electric propulsion system
  • integrated power system
  • implementation of hydrogen technologies (dual-fuel engine for generators)
  • reduced CO₂ footprint

⏺ Interesting feature:
The world’s first 10-ton crane with 3D heave compensation is installed on board, allowing for safe operation even in challenging weather conditions.

The vessel will become part of a growing offshore service in Europe and will be actively involved in energy transition projects (primarily wind energy).

🗣According to management, the Elevation series is expected to set a new standard for CSOV and improve the efficiency of offshore operations in the coming years.
