A new screening system has been introduced at Vilnius and Kaunas airports since August 22, 2025.
Now passengers do not need to remove liquids and electronics from their carry-on luggage
What has changed:
🟦 Liquids can be carried in containers up to 2 liters (previously – only 100 ml in a transparent 1 liter bag)
🟦 Laptops, tablets and other gadgets remain in the bag
🟦 Modern 3D scanners analyze the contents of luggage without unnecessary procedures
🟦 Passing through security has become faster and more comfortable
Lithuania has become the first Baltic country where such rules are in effect. The decision was made by the European Commission in July 2025, and the equipment was installed at the country’s largest airports
💬 Vidas KÅ¡ianas, Head of the LTOU Security Department: “Passengers no longer need to take anything out of their luggage – this saves time and reduces stress.”
The rules remain the same at Palanga Airport and other smaller airports
