Ground service workers at the country’s largest airports have announced protests, Euronews reports

📍 Strikes are taking place in Lisbon, Faro, Porto, Porto Santo, as well as Madeira and the Azores

Reasons for the protests:
🔘 Low wages
🔘 Unpaid night shifts
🔘 Deterioration of working conditions after the transfer of management to the British company Menzies Aviation

Strike schedule:
🔘 August 22–25
🔘 August 29–September 1

❗️According to the ANA management company and the British Foreign Office, the protests could lead to serious disruptions to airports, including the cancellation of flights by the national carrier TAP Air Portugal.

What passengers are advised to do:
🔘 check the status of flights before the trip
🔘 allow more time for the trip
🔘 take the most necessary things in your hand luggage
