The vessel was heading to China for drydock repairs. That night, while the second officer was on watch after a recent shift, in an area with a large concentration of fishing schooners, one of them unexpectedly veered into the vessel’s path and attempted to pass directly in front of the vessel.

The officer on the bridge immediately took preemptive measures:
๐Ÿ”˜ turning to starboard,
๐Ÿ”˜ emitting light signals,
๐Ÿ”˜ sounding a warning signal

Despite all attempts to prevent the collision, the fishing vessel did not change course, and contact occurred.
