The EU is introducing new border crossing rules from October 12: passports will no longer have stamps, but will instead have digital biometric registration

✅ What is important to know:
🟦 The system applies to trips of up to 90 days within any 180 days (short-term stay).
🟦 Instead of stamps in the passport, there will be digital registration.
🟦 The following data will be collected:
— a photo of the face,
— fingerprints of 4 fingers (for persons aged 12 and over),
— passport details,
— date, place of entry/exit and cases of entry refusal.

How it will work:
— All passengers must exit the transport to undergo biometrics.
— On trains, the procedure depends on the specific checkpoint.
— Refusal to provide biometric data = legal grounds for entry refusal.

❓Why is this being introduced:
— to control compliance with the terms of stay in the EU,
— to prevent the use of forged documents,
— to increase the level of security in the Schengen area countries.
