The Spiridon II has been anchored off the coast of Bandırma, Turkey, for more than 50 days after departing Montevideo, Uruguay, on September 19. There are 2,853 cattle and 20 crew members on board.

The Togo-flagged vessel 🇹🇬 is operated by a Honduran company. According to local media, 48 animals have already died, and feed and water supplies are running low.

✈️ Turkish authorities refused to allow the animals to be unloaded due to identification issues—some of them are missing or have incorrect ear tags.
