The country’s main port has completely halted operations following the outbreak of unrest following the October 29 elections.

🔘According to Inchcape Shipping Services, a curfew has been imposed, and communications and internet access are partially blocked. All terminals and warehouses are closed, and vessels are not being serviced.

🔘Dar es Salaam is a key East African port, serving transit for Zambia, Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

🔘The shutdown has already led to cargo delays and the rerouting of vessels to other ports in the region.
