One of our colleagues shared his recent experience renewing his Seafarer’s Passport (SSP) in Poland. I think this information will be useful for those planning to apply.
🔑 Important:
- Your civil passport must be valid (for the old model, a photo must be included).
- A reserve with a QR code is required.
📌 Application process:
- The appointment is standard, as per the MRS instructions. After registration, you will receive a confirmation SMS with access codes.
- There’s no point in arriving early: you’re only allowed in 5 minutes before your scheduled time, and you can enter one at a time.
- The appointment takes 40 minutes to an hour. Occasionally, delays of up to half an hour are possible.
👩💼 The receptionist is a woman, and an intern is working nearby. First, they check your civil passport and the “reserve” using the QR code. • Applicants from occupied territories are required to have a VPO certificate.
- The old VPO is confiscated for inspection by the SBU in Kyiv.
📂 The following documents are checked and copied:
- Academic diploma with grade sheet,
- Tax code,
- Work diploma,
- Endorsement,
- Service record.
All copies are certified with a signature: “Accurate with the original, full name in full, signature, and date.”
🖊 Applications and an explanatory note addressed to the head of the Ministry of Defense (explaining the reason for replacing the VPO) are completed.
📸 A photo is taken of the person holding both passports, their arrival is recorded in the system, and payment is authorized.
- Payment by card only (cash is not accepted).
📑 Receipts are signed at the end. They say the manufacturing time in Ukraine after Morad’s approval is 7 days, plus a minimum of 10 days for delivery. However, they warn of possible delays, requiring a separate signature.
