An important step to changing positions in the international arena!
I saw it on the news yesterday and remembered:
“I’m thirteen years old. I was herding lambs outside the village.”
Taras Grigoryevich’s time is over,
but the idea, as we see, lives on.
And as one classic said,
the same old people are still in the arena!
Beautiful photos, beautiful costumes, expressive speeches.
And things are still the same.
Lest you forget, here’s a brief history:
π 2006 β MLC adopted at the ILO level.
βοΈ 2007 β Ukraine signed and promised to join.
π’ 2013 β The Convention entered into force worldwide.
π 2025 β Almost 100 countries have ratified. Ukraine is still on the way.
19 years “on the way” is no longer a journey, it’s a tradition.
And the document is the fourth pillar of maritime law: alongside SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW.
So, when they sell you a “movie ticket,”
know that it’s not even a trailer.
It’s just porn.
Where the sailor, alas, is again not on top.
