AMS (Automated Manifest System) is a US automated system through which a shipowner or agent submits cargo and crew information to the port in advance.
🎓 Important for seafarers:
🔘 The data is entered by the company/agent, not the crew members themselves.
🔘 The seafarer must provide only reliable documents.
🔘 Errors or delays = fines for the company and possible vessel delays.
⚠️ Your main checklist:
✔️ Submit all documents on time.
✔️ Check the accuracy of the data entered.
✔️ Don’t leave things to chance—the US is strict about this.
👉 AMS is not a formality, but part of the US security system. Correct completion affects how quickly and smoothly the vessel enters port.
