We regularly encounter situations where sailors lose months, and sometimes even years, of service due to seemingly minor errors in their service record.
And the worst part is that they find out about it too late:
when submitting documents or after a refusal.
❗️What most often goes wrong:
— not all voyages are included
— errors in dates
— incorrect position indicated
— missing signatures or seals
Any of these points can result in your service record simply not being counted.
👉 Therefore, it’s important to check your service record in advance, not when you urgently need it.
One more thing:
if your service record is lost, expired, filled out with errors, or in poor condition, it’s best to obtain a new one in advance.
This will save you time, stress, and money. ✅
