Many people perceive sending out a CV as a one-time action: send it → wait for a response.
And yes, quick responses do happen. Sometimes you can get a response within the first few days—and that’s a great result.
👉 But there’s another important factor that’s often underestimated: the delayed effect.
Even if the company doesn’t currently have a suitable vacancy, your CV doesn’t disappear.
It’s stored in the internal database.
And when a position opens up in 1-3 months, the crew manager doesn’t always start the search from scratch.
👉 They access their candidate database and see those who have already responded.
📌 What this means:
— You’re added to an internal candidate pool
— You may be considered without a follow-up email
— Companies contact you directly
— You may even get a message months later
— Sometimes they ask you to update your documents for a new vacancy
These cases are not uncommon.
We regularly receive messages that a response came later, when they “no longer expected it.”
📌 Therefore, a newsletter isn’t just about quick results.
It’s about systematic work for the future.
It’s like an investment: you take action today → the result may come later, but it will come.
